1. What is CGI?
CGI stands for Computer Generated Imagery (CGI). This means that the new test clips have been recreated using a computer to generate high quality clips based around real-life scenarios. You’ll find that all the new test clips are of a much higher quality and contain up-to-date road settings.
2. Will there be changes to the structure of the test?
There will be no changes to the way in which the Hazard Perception Test is conducted or scored. Learner car drivers and motorcyclists will still need to watch 14 video clips and score at least 44 out of 75 to achieve a pass.
3. Will the CGI video clips look life like?
Some people may be sceptical about the DVSA choosing to use computer generated clips over real life ones, but people who have seen the new CGI clips have been impressed at just how life like they actually are.
4. Can my learners still use real life video clips to prepare for the Hazard Perception Test?
Most definitely! Just because the new test clips are all CGI now, it doesn’t mean that learners will be at a disadvantage if they revise from real-life video clips. The DVSA have confirmed that the new CGI clips are based around real-life scenarios that have been filmed whilst out and about on the roads.
All the latest versions of the Driving Test Success PC software, digital downloads and learner driver apps contain brand new high definition video footage to help prepare your learners for the second part of their Theory Test.
5. Do any of the Driving Test Success products contain the official CGI revision clips?
They sure do! Driving Test Success were the first to launch a dedicated CGI Hazard Perception app that contained the 10 new CGI official sample revision clips licenced directly from the DVSA.
But you’ll be pleased to know that the following Driving Test Success products contain the official CGI sample revision clips:
Driving Test Success All Tests (PC DVD-ROM)
The Complete Theory Test (PC DVD-ROM)
Hazard Perception CGI App (iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle Fire, Mac)
